Infrared Sauna
Discover the transformative health benefits of infrared saunas for relaxation, detoxification, and overall wellness.
Health Benefits
This not an exhaustive list of the health benefits from infrared saunas but the most-often reported and researched. Numerous health benefits are born out of increased blood flow and detoxification as well as individual response.
Decreased Pain and Improved Muscle Recovery
Infrared heat increases oxygen and nutrient delivery to muscles and joints, eliminates cellular waste and inflammation, and increases collagen production. It has been shown to greatly improve pain and stiffness from various forms of arthritis, fibromyalgia, and athletic recovery.
Detoxification
Deeper penetration of heat allow that body to sweat more efficiently in infrared saunas which in turn help the body to eliminate toxins and heavy metals.
Improved Cardiovascular Health
Repeated infrared sauna use has been shown to lower blood pressure, improves circulation, and enhances heart rate variability.

Improved Immune System
Infrared sauna increases WBC production, reduces systemic inflammation, mimics a fever to kill off harmful bacteria and viruses, and reduces cortisol to balance stress hormones that weaken our immune system.
Improved Sleep
The use of sauna helps regulate the body's core temperature, reduces cortisol levels, increases melatonin levels, and stimulates delta brain waves - all contributing to deeper and more restorative sleep.
Mimics Cardiovascular Exercise
Performing sauna sessions can increase heart rate to levels of moderate exercise (100–150 bpm) and have shown physiologic conditioning similar to a brisk walk or light jog.
How It Works
Infrared saunas use infrared light to penetrate the skin up to 4cm, heating the body directly and promoting efficient detoxification at lower temperatures. This process induces sweating to eliminate toxins, heavy metals, and impurities, while also enhancing circulation, reducing inflammation, and relieving muscle tension. Regular use of infrared saunas can improve energy levels, skin clarity, and relaxation, supporting overall wellness and the body's natural healing abilities.

Frequently asked questions
How often should I use infrared sauna?
For best results, research points to 3-5 sessions per week.
How do I prepare for a sauna session?
HYDRATE. It is important to replenish sweat loss with both water and electrolytes even before going into the sauna. We recommend 12-32 ounces of water at least a half hour before.
It is not recommended to have caffeine or alcohol before sauna. Both substances dehydrate our bodies and effect cardiovascular and temperature regulatory functions.
How long do I use the sauna for each session?
For beginners, 10-15 minutes is ideal. Once heat adapted- you can increase up to 30 minutes.
How hot will the sauna be?
Our infrared sauna will be set at 140°F. However, since it is heated by infrared waves, you may find that you heat up more quickly and sweat more than in a traditional sauna. It also has a heated bench seat, calf warmer, and heated floor tile for full coverage. *You may turn down the heat for your session if desired
What do I wear?
Minimal clothing is best so that the infrared waves do not have a barrier to your skin and so that your pores can release sweat efficiently. We recommend a bathing suit or light cotton/ natural fiber clothing.
What about after?
Continue to rehydrate! We have our favorites but ideally add electrolytes to your water that do not have sugar, artificial sweeteners and flavoring, or food dyes.
Shower off. After sweating out various toxins and waste from our body it is important not to reabsorb them. Minimally, towel off and shower at home. Otherwise, we have showers available for quick rinses.
How exactly does infrared sauna help cardiovascular health?
Exposure in an infrared sauna increases nitric oxide production which dilates blood vessels. This widening of blood vessels increases circulation and nutrient delivery to the tissues in our body. Over time, this has been shown to decrease both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
Sauna sessions also increase heart rate variability which is an important marker to how our body handles stress. Repeated heat exposure tones our parasympathetic nervous system (rest-and-digest) to better balance our autonomic nervous system.
As a result of the above mentioned mechanisms, inflammation is decreased which is a leading cause of blood vessel damage.
"One–two sauna bathing sessions per week have been found to significantly decrease sudden cardiac death, coronary heart disease, and overall mortality rates. In a dose–response manner, additional (≥3) sauna bathing sessions can provide further protection to the cardiovascular system such as improved mitochondrial function, reduced inflammation, and an improved lipid profile. Additionally, three–seven sauna bathing sessions per week have demonstrated a ~50% reduction in cardiovascular disease development, risk of stroke, and risk of hypertension" (Henderson, 2021).
What is the difference between infrared sauna and traditional sauna?
Infrared saunas utilize infrared light in order to penetrate our body and heat it directly. Traditional saunas heat the air which in turn warms our body. Infrared saunas will therefore be a less intense environment - around 140°F while our traditional sauna is set at 190°F.
Who should not use the sauna?
Children 12 and under are not advised to use the sauna since their temperature regulation is still developing.
Pregnant woman are generally not recommended to undergo extreme temperature changes unless instructed by their health care provider.
Anyone with a fever should not use the sauna. While sauna is useful to mimic a fever to help the body recovery from illness faster, if you already have a fever this further increase in core temperature could be detrimental.
Are there any medications that would contraindicate sauna use?
Certain medications effect our temperature regulation (hormone medications, pain killers, antidepressants), heat sensitivity (stimulants), hydration (diuretics, antihistamines), or excessive drop in blood pressure (antihypertensives and beta-blockers). If you are concerned that a medication that you are taking may be harmful with sauna use, please consult your primary care physician or specialist.
Is the sauna safe?
Our sauna was selected for its ultra-low EMF score, independently verified through comprehensive testing, ensuring minimal electromagnetic exposure for user safety. It also uses eco-friendly Canadian Hemlock construction and has a zero VOC certification to further guarantee a non-toxic environment.
